The concept of digital literacies encompasses a range of skills and knowledge necessary to evaluate, use, and create digital information in various forms. Many of these literacies blend and blur into each other, therefore both practitioners and learners need to consider within the overall field. Digital Literacies can help many adult learners to get ahead in the workplace or have better future job opportunities. But before and above all being digital literate means to be a fully functional citizen in the 21st century. Practitioners and educators have a pivotal role to play in making adult learners to understand how information and knowledge are shaped and shared today across the digital landscape. And equally important, teaching digital literacies can make all classes a lot more relevant and interesting in the here and now.
